The Foundation for the Prevention of Obesity and Cardiometabolic Risk, A.C. (Cardiomet), is a private institution serving the community. It is recognized as a civil association, autonomous, non-profit, included in the National Registry of Institutions and Scientific and Technological Enterprises (RENIECyT) of the National Council of Science and Technology (CONACyT). It is also included in the Federal Register of Civil Society Organizations of the National Institute of Social Development (INDESOL) and is recognized before the Tax Administration Service (SAT) as an authorized grantee to issue tax deductible receipts.

Cardiomet aims to contribute to the effort initiated through the «National Strategy for the Prevention and Control of Obesity, Overweight and Diabetes», through the study, knowledge and scientific evidence in nutrition and prevention of obesity and diseases Chronic diseases, to achieve measurable and reliable changes in the patterns of diet, physical activity and education that allow the prevention and reduction of the prevalence of overweight and obesity, and the reduction of cardiovascular mortality and diabetes, and translate into improved levels of Welfare of the Mexican population.
